The Texas Health and Human Services Commission Institute (The Institute) is a four-day online virtual conference that provides education and training for substance use and mental health counselors and other stakeholders with a vested interest in addressing behavioral health needs of a variety of populations.
Sessions promote individual, program and system level approaches. Tracks include:

- Treatment
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Peer Support Services
- Suicide Prevention
- Workforce Ethics
- Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics
This year’s Institute will explore innovative approaches to engaging communities, educating professionals with the latest research and best practices, and elevating behavioral health services to drive meaningful change. Topics will include trauma-informed care, workforce development, and integrating peer recovery support services. Each morning’s keynote session will be followed by interactive breakout discussions to deepen learning and application.
