The Texas Health and Human Services Commission Institute (The Institute) is a five-day conference that provides education and training for state agencies, private providers, clinicians, caregivers and other stakeholders with a vested interest in addressing behavioral health needs of a variety of populations.
Sessions promote individual, program and system level approaches that foster:
– Health
– Resilience and recovery
– Housing
– Employment
– Education
– Other necessary supports
The Institute will feature innovative topics on how to change, create and collaborate in mental health and substance use disorder prevention, intervention, and treatment. Sessions will focus on trauma-informed care, solving employee shortage issues and training, and increase integration with peer recovery support services. Each morning’s keynote will be followed by in-depth breakout sessions to discuss the ideas presented. The goal is for people and organizations to acquire new technologies and evidence-based approaches that can help shape the future of their services.
HHSC will provide final session schedule this month.
